Due for Release September 13, 2011
This is a sneak peek review of the children's DVD Barney: Big World Adventure, The Movie. This product comes from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment and is due for release on September 13. I was provided a review copy of this product, but was under no obligation to recommend it. My observations are my own.
Synopsis of the Children's DVD Barney: Big World Adventure, The Movie
Ben and Emma don't really have anyone to play with, as their friends are elsewhere. But Barney comes to the park via a hot air balloon, and invites them on a journey around the world. Using vignettes from previous televised episodes, the trio fly over various spots in the world which were featured in past programs, stretching from France to Hawaii. Song and dance routines of the various cultures in other countries, including Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Kenya and China are shown. But also included are various activities of world culture, from learning how to hula dance in Hawaii, drumming and dancing in Kenya, to viewing the story of King Midas "Barney-style," where candy instead of gold is the obsession of the ruler. BJ, Baby Bop, and Riff make appearances in each of the visitations.
The bonus features include short productions on how hot air balloons function plus BJ hangs out with an elephant. And a game based on the travel adventure is also included.
