Sneak Peek Review of the Children’s Animated DVD 'Timmy Time: Timmy Needs a Bath'
Due for Release January 24, 2012
This is a sneak peek review of the children's animated DVD "Timmy Time: Timmy Needs a Bath." This product comes from Lionsgate and HiT Entertainment. I was provided a copy of this product for review, but was under no obligation to recommend it. My observations are my own.
Synopsis of the video "Timmy Time: Timmy Needs a Bath"
Five episodes from the animated series make up this video. The program is a spin-off from the Shaun the Sheep series. The youngest member of that cast interacts with his fellow animal preschoolers. These include a piglet, kitten, puppy, skunk, etc. The lamb learns, sometimes the hard way, how to get along in the world through his classroom experiences.
First, in "Timmy Needs a Bath," the lamb gets all muddy playing soccer, but he refuses to get cleaned up, and his crud ends up being a disruption to the ensuing class activities. In "Sticky Timmy," the main character gets glue all over his paws and wool during crafts class, and in trying to get it off, the other classmates and their objects get stuck. "Tidy Timmy" sees the "Shaun the Sheep" star go overboard in trying to prove he is neat; that is, he puts things away even though the others aren't necessarily done with them, and this even leads to his prized teddy bear being misplaced.
The preschool takes a camping trip in "Timmy Goes Camping," and the lamb decides he wants to set up his own tent away from the preschool's bigger tent, but that isolation becomes a problem during a rainstorm. Finally, in "Timmy the Artist," the star gets into a painting fight with Mittens (a kitten), but it ends up creating two artful pictures. The bonus features include a short music video and an episode from "Shaun the Sheep" called "Supersize Timmy," in which the lamb eats a growth-treated tomato that causes him to turn into a King Kong-sized terror around the farm.
This animated DVD will keep youngsters engaged
I recommend this video because through the comedic antics of the preschool characters, children will not only get many chuckles, but they will learn such values as sharing, teamwork, and to listen to their parents regarding activities like getting cleaned up and helping to keep the place clean. The episodes move quickly along, and have a bright and cheery feel to them.
This DVD runs about 45 minutes in length and has a Suggested Retail Price of $14.98. It can be heard in English. "Timmy Time: Timmy Needs a Bath" will be available at retail outlets like Amazon.com on January 24, 2012. For more information about this character, go to this website.
