February 21, 2008 - Eggtown on ABC's Lost premieres Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 9pm on ABC. Eggtown is a pre-strike Season Four Lost episode that focuses on leading lady Kate, as played by Evangeline Lily. This is yet another Lost Season Four episode which combines "present day" scenes on the island with flash forward scenes.

Sneak Preview and Spoilers for Lost Eggtown

Eggtown: More Than One Basket

During this Kate-centric episode, Kate has confrontations with both Locke and Sawyer. Kate is not keeping all of her eggs in one basket. She's still playing both Jack and Sawyer. She will end up choosing neither when all is said and done.

Ben Eggs John On

Ben has the ability to hone in someone's insecurities, extract them, and take them out like a cruel cat. In Lost's Eggtown episode on ABC, Ben takes the time to toy with John Locke. Ben gets under John's skin, and Ben knows it as he hears John throw a tray of eggs against the wall in anger.

Breaking the Shell: Secret Agenda

Eggtown on Lost shows further nuances that Kate is more than she says, as she tries to press Miles for information. Earlier in the season, Kate followed Naomi and took the phone away from Jack, without explanation.

Sawyer even asks Kate in the preview, "You've got a secret agenda, hunh?'

Kate and Sawyer See-Saw Love in Eggtown

After Sawyer is nice enough to offer Kate some nice red wine from a Dharma box (Image 2), he tells her, "You already said you didn't stay behind for me. At least be woman enough to tell me you want to use me for something."

"I want to use you for something," Kate tells him. Fade out.

Day in Court: Eggtown Spoiler

Kate may be having her day in court after all. Guest star Fred Q. Collins plays a bailiff. Kate is also famous (Image 3). Kate also has a boy with her that could be Aaron. This does not mean that Aaron is one of the Oceanic 6. We already know that people other than the Oceanic 6 do get off the island, including Ben, Michael (previously), and Desmond.

Technically, Aaron is not one of the Oceanic 6 because he did not appear on the passenger list. Kate may take Aaron with her and we don't know why Claire does not make it off the island. Nobody has speculated this yet, but it could be Claire in the coffin.

Also, when Jack figures out that Kate's son is Aaron, and he figures out that Aaron is is nephew, will there be a custody battle with Kate?

Eggtown Meanings: Speculations and Spoilers

Eggtown could refer to so many things in Lost. Most literally, John serves Ben "the last two eggs." Why are they they the last two eggs? How did the eggs even get there? Eggs don't stay vacuum packed in any Dharma box. Eggs would need to come from live chickens (which we have not seen) or they are being bought fresh off the island. There is a scene that shows John Locke with a dead chicken, so those questions do get answered.

But why is John killing the last chicken? Is this a reference to the pregnancy theme on Lost? Is it an insider joke about "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" as the Lost creators continue to play with the timeline on Lost?

Or does the killing of the chicken, which produced the last eggs, indicate the death of Claire? In the bigger scheme it shows the end of fertility on the island, as Aaron probably leaves with Kate, and the pregnant Sun leaves as one of the Oceanic 6 and gives birth in a hospital.

There is also speculation that we find out Kate is pregnant in Eggtown. Is it Sawyer's? Or is it a pregnancy in the flash forward with the man that keeps her grounded? In a TV Guide interview, Evangeline Lilly said of the future Kate: Kate's kind of got her s--- together," Lilly says, "and the reason she's coping quite well is that person." (TVGuide.com)

I agree with Linda. Keeping track of the politics of the various characters on the program and their loyalties is very frustrating for me. Love your article recaps though.
