Sneaking Up on the Carolina Panthers

We are going to head east to the Panthers turf. This team has definitely given their all this year but even better, they love their community. Let's have a look at what they are doing for the little football players in their community. We love football right? They do too, obviously, because there are many youth football organizations that they support.

Once again Gatorade shows their support and merges with the Panthers to form a Junior Camp. Here is where children who have a desire to play football can come and learn all the ins and outs on their own level. It is a great self confidense booster. The program is also developed to help the children learn respect for authority and teaches them self discipline. They learn all about football fundamentals and then they are actaully taught and drilled during the camp.

Children that are ages 7 to 14 can get involved. There can be 200 kids in the camp at once. It is a bit like a mini football course with pop up dummies for contact tackling. There are step over dummies for running the ball. the kids will actually get the feel for the game and all the discipline that comes with being a good sport and learning respect and social skills.

The Panthers are also proud sponsors of the Challenger Flag Football League. This league is designed for youth ages 8-21 that are diagnosed with disabilities. This is a safe place where they will be able to play and have fun just like any other child. It is also a great way to boost confidense that is much needed when you are disabled. The Panthers give grants to those who want to start a league in their area so if you are interested you may contact the Panthers at 704-527-0237.

For over 15 years, the Panthers have hosted a camp at the Bank of America Stadium. This is a day of fun for kids who want to learn more about football. The Panthers are actually on site to play with the kids and show them hands on how to be a football player. There are different stations that are put throughout the field such as a 40 yard dash and vertical jump. The kids have a fun day and will also be served lunch as well as motivational talks and drills.

Once again a football team that loves their community and it shines through with the many junior league programs that they are involved in. There are several more things that the Carolina Panthers do for their community and you can see for yourself at their website. Panthers.com
