Sneezing Squirrels: How to Keep Squirrels Out of Your Plants

Plus Two Free Lindy Lou Handy Homemaker Bonus Tips

Linda Louise Johnson
Hachooo! It's the old Cayenne Pepper trick. Lindy Lou received an anonymous tip about squirrel repellent. A kind and thoughtful way to keep squirrels away that won't hurt the furry little rodents, won't hurt your furry little pets, won't hurt your plants, and doesn't require huge payments to pest-ridder-people. Not toxic, and kind of fun. Fun? Why yes, what could be more fun than watching a squirrel sneeze? Train a camera on the sucker. Because let's face it, if you can get a video of squirrels sneezing, it will go viral on YouTube in seconds. So Pepper up! .

Lindy Lou would never suggest anything that would poison or trap these adorable creatures who like to get up in your attic and have generation after generation of babies who then have generation after generation of babies, who make scritch-scritch-scritch sounds in your walls while you're trying to sleep--- but couldn't we just annoy them? Annoy the brazen little darlings who also like to make chitter-chitter noises just outside the reach of your dog so that he will bark maniacally all day?

Actually, they won't stick around to be annoyed, they will just flee, according to the pepper experts.

Free bonus handy homemaker tip: No Nuke Pizza

Don't you just hate leftover pizza with soggy crust and gluey cheese? No? Well, then skip to the next tip. But if yes, just put the pizza in a non stick skillet on medium setting and heat till it warms. The crust will stay crisp. Of course, you could also do it in the oven, but that takes longer, and besides you're probably using your oven for storage. That's what we do in Tinyville, and once while preheating the oven for actual food preparation, a stored plastic bag of marshmallows became a glutenous frisby-like mass. And you don't want to know what it does to pork rinds.

Free bonus handy homemaker tip#2: End static cling.

Just pin a safety pin to the seam of your slip to end static cling.

You probably don't want your clothes outlining every cranny and bulge on your body, and making that horrid crackling sound when you try to yank it free. Same thing works when you wear slacks over pantyhose or long socks.(Does anybody do that?) Just place the pin in the seam of the pants - on the inside please. And voila your crannies and bulges are your little secret. Maybe not so little.

You should seriously have a column in the paper, Lindy Lou! (or online) No one but NO ONE has ever done household tips w/the flair & imagination you have! So cayenne pepper for our little darling rodents. Sounds good to me! And I never thought of the frying pan method of reheating pizza. So simple, yet brilliant. One of those, "Why didn't I think of this myself?" inspirations. And if I ever wear a slip again, I'll use the safety pin trick. You are way more fun than Heloise ever was! ; )

I hate when I'm wearing a skirt and the static makes it cling to my legs. Then it starts to crawl up my legs!...very uncomfortable.
