SNES Game Review - Mark Davis' the Fishing Master

Natasha Fox
Mark Davis' The Fishing Master is a revolutionary fishing game for the super Nintendo entertainment system (SNES). One of the most realistic console fishing games available for its time. You may remember Mark Davis as one of the premier fishermen of his time. In the very same year Mark Davis won both the Bass angler of the year and the Bass master classic, an achievement that has yet to be duplicated, and now you can have him as your guide through this extraordinary expedition into the fish filled deep.

In Mark Davis' "The Fishing Master" be prepared to challenge a variety of different fresh water fish in up to 5 different lakes and one unique fishing tournament in hopes to win the big trophy.

The fish in this game act realistically and will not be caught as easily as in some other console fishing games. But if you configure the wide range of rods, reels and fishing lures available to you once certain levels are completed or tasks are done then the game becomes exactly what it was meant to be...Sporting! You might just forget you are playing from your living room.

As you tweak your power meter to cast your line out, you can almost feel the excitement when the split screen appears showing you what lies under the water as you try to lure the fish to take the bait. It's not quite as easy and you might expect to get a fish on the end of your line. Every choice you make directly contributes to the outcome. So be prepared to weigh the options of outside temperatures, rain or sun, or in some instances night and day. The weather tends to change from scene to scene causing a need for different gear. Along with a wide variety of rods, reels and lures for all types and styles, There is also equipment for every weather condition ranging from rain coats, winter coats and gloves to different hats and caps.

All in all Mark davis' The Fishing Master is a solid feeling game title that any fishing enthusiast would not be disappointed to play in their off time.
