The SNL Eric Massa skit and Weekend Update bit with Jerry Seinfeld aired Saturday night on NBC, lampooning the former New York congressman, and which can be seen at Mediaite here. The former Congressman resigned earlier this week, and now Republicans want a further investigation into his alleged doings, according to CNN.com. The SNL Eric Massa skit and Jerry Seinfeld appearance has once again has taken a hot political news item and lampooned it for comedic effects. And it's not going to do the former congressman any good as far as public relations go. Because once again, this comedy program has shed light on just how lame the excuses politicians use can really be, allegedly.

SNL Eric Massa Skit and Jerry Seinfeld Weekend Update Bit Aren't Sympathetic

Saturday Night Live opened with the a skit showing an exit interview of the former New York Congressman, who used to represent the state's 29th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Olean, Corning, and Pittsford, according to the Office of the Clerk of the U.S House of Representatives. A woman conducting the interview asked Eric Massa about his alleged activities, and he answered questions via reminiscing, including recalling his 50th birthday party, where the SNL Eric Massa skit showed the play-acting Congressman tickling other staffers. Then the Saturday Night Live "version" of Eric Massa (Bobby Moynihan) explained what "snorkeling" was, implying on the airwaves that term referred to attempted oral sex, showing the "pretend" Massa with goggles on coming up from under the sheets where a young man was sleeping.

Yet the Weekend Update bit with Seth Meyers and Jerry Seinfeld, which was called "Really!?! With Seth & Jerry", really went after Eric Massa again over all the former Congressman's excuses for leaving his job by sarcastically saying "Really" to his litany of justifications. Some new words and phrases were coined over this scandal by Seinfeld including "Massa Massages" and "Massa-bations." The bit commented on the word "snorkeling" by stating that such terms like "scuba diving" and "two man submarine" are even more suspicious words now.

The SNL skit and the further lampooning on Weekend Update aren't going to do the New Yorker any good. These productions really make him look bad. Saturday Night Live doesn't care what party one belongs to, for Democrat or Republican, if a politician is caught up in a scandal, SNL will be there to rub salt in the wounds.
