Snooki's Book 'A Shore Thing' Hits New York Times Bestseller List

Though it makes many weep at the future of reading, A Shore Thing, by Snooki, is currently on The New York Times Best Sellers list.

Currently Snooki's book is shocking many in the literary world by outselling popular authors. Snooki's rise to fame as a reality star on the MTV series Jersey Shore has been fun to watch. Snooki, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, is a 23 year old who commands at least $30,000 per episode.

Like many reality stars Snooki has been a tabloid dream. She has been in trouble with the law, she has been outspoken, and she has been wild. Her interesting take on life has prompted many Snooki related jokes.

But whatever her past may be, Snooki is now a best-selling author. You can't argue with The New York Times Best Sellers list where she is #24 with her book that was released in January 2011.

A Shore Thing is not a strict biographical telling of her time on the Jersey Shore but instead a fictional work about a summer on the Jersey Shore. Snooki doesn't write like most authors and as a popular celebrity she is able to get by with her style of writing.

What has been the reaction to Snooki's A Shore Thing?

Writes one Amazon reviewer, Tina Lee, "This was a fun quick read. I expected it to be total crap but it wasn`t at all! It's genuinely funny and heartwarming, if you like and or have watched a few episodes from Jersey Shore you know what you're in for. I was really, really surprised by much. I enjoyed reading it. Some parts near the end were too cheesy for me, but it wasn't long and easily skipped. I liked this book much better than the show! I hope Snooks and her ghostwriter write another one."

Others, like Kody, are not as impressed, "Steal this book. Then burn it. The public will thank you for your service. Saddens me that paper, money and people's time were wasted on such a shallow, selfish, immoral product!"

Will Snooki's book hit #1? Or will it slowly fade away? Whether or not you are a Snooki fan it's hard to deny that she has made an impact on pop culture. How long will that impact last?
