Snoop Dogg and Celine Dion Join Forces?

Storm Jackson
Snoop Dogg has been a big player in the music industry for a decade and a half and he now wants to expand his horizons. Just recently, he has said he would like to work outside of the hip hop realm and collaborate with Celine Dion. Snoop says producing hip hop is "too easy" for him and he wants more of a challenge.

He recently did an interview with AllHipHop.com and told them "I got beats for everybody, Man". He continued and said "I've got music for everybody, not just rap. Rap is easy - whoever I call, I can get, just because I'm Snoop Dogg. That's too easy (in rap). I want to reach out with some creative artists that's gonna be here 20 years from now."

Celine Dion, born March 30, 1968 in Canada, has become one of the biggest pop stars in all of music history. She has worked with other stars in the past such as the time on VH1's Divas live special. During that special she worked with Aretha Franklin, Gloria Estefan, Mariah Carey, and Shania Twain. Celine has fans all across the world and has sold millions of CD's throughout her career. She has never worked with Snoop Dogg before.

This collaboration is about as unlikely as the Eminem and Elton John team up that happened back in 2001. Slim Shady (aka Eminem) was continuously criticized for his anti-gay rhymes on his music albums. Elton went on record to state "If I thought for one minute that he was (hateful) I wouldn't do it" Elton said. Soon afterward, Eminem and Elton John performed together at the Grammy Awards show in 2001. No one would have ever thought these two would ever perform together, but it happened.

Snoop Dogg has appeared on several albums other than his own during his career. He appeared on the Mariah Carey CD "The Emancipation Of Mimi" back in 2005, a Jamie Foxx album called "Unpredictable" released 2005, the John Legend "Get Lifted" CD in 2004, the Angie Stone "Stone Love" CD in 2004, with DJ Quik in "Rhythm-Al-Ism" released in 1998 and dozens of other albums throughout the years.

Among trying to work with Celine Dion, Snoop is working on a 100% solo album to be released sometime in 2007 or 2008. The new album has a tentative title called "Ego Trippin". This will be Snoop Dogg's ninth album he has released. There is no word when or if this Celine Dion joint venture will happen. Don't think this collaboration won't happen. It could really could come to life because, as you know, stranger things have happened!
