Snoop Dogg Schools Tiger Woods on the Importance of Marriage

Rapper and hip-hop artist, Snoop Dogg, has some advice for Tiger Woods. He thinks the disgraced golfer should try to work things out with his wife Elin Nordegren, and Snoop is speaking as the voice of experience.

In conversation with Larry King, the rap star said, "You know, that's a proximal issue with him and his wife. And I feel like it's been blown out of proportion because he was looked at as somebody who was perfect. But at the same time, nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes. So let's let him get his life back with his wife and move on. ..."

Snoop Dogg and his wife almost divorced over his wild lifestyle. They separated in 2004 when he filed for divorce and he has admitted that his womanizing and wild life were behind the split. The couple has since reconciled, renewing their wedding vows in 2008.

Snoop is right that Tiger Wood's affairs have been blown out of proportion in the sense that the heavy media coverage adds insult to injury, but more so for Elin Nordegren than Tiger. Perhaps he expects Tiger's wife to blame the women and not Tiger, as he does: "I just want to say that I'm down with Tiger Woods...I'm just disgusted with all these women that keep popping up, it's like what do they think they're going to get, points?...that's despicable ...you whore," he said at a party last December.

Snoop's wife has had to deal with a lot worse than Elin Nordegren since Snoop was involved in some pretty weird stuff in the past, like dabbling in the porn industry. He reportedly filmed in his own backyard, then branched out with sexually explicit material involving the 'Girls Gone Wild' franchise. He admitted to being in some type of gang where he could get any hooker he wanted 24/7. In a Rolling Stone interview, he said: "I had a b-tch on every exit from the 10 freeway to the 101 freeway 'cause b-tches would recruit for me." He said his wife acted like it wasn't happening but she knew it was because "... pimps would come over, get dressed, and then go to the Players Balls."

When his wife gave him an ultimatum, Snoop initially chose divorce but his friends helped him see that this lifestyle was not worth throwing away his wife and children. Perhaps the last straw was a lawsuit filed in 2005 by Emmy award-winning make-up artist, Kylie Bell. The situation was ongoing before Kylie Bell filed a formal complaint accusing Snoop and his posse of drugging and raping her at the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. While denying the accusations and accusing the woman of extortion, payments had been made to her. The matter was eventually settled "amicably."

Snoop later reconciled with his wife and told the press: "You know, I was caught up with Hollywood, and the girls and the night life. I thought I was the man and I was willing to give up what I had at home for that, until I realized that what I had at home was irreplaceable, so I gave that up to go back home." He also has said that he and his wife don't look back anymore and are all about "moving ahead."

Snoop Dogg may very well be down with Tiger, but he is failing to consider how Elin Nordegren feels about reconciling with Tiger Woods and whether she has enough love left in her heart to put this behind her, as well as the ability to cope with the constant stream of gossip stories.
