Snow Day

Snow Day Poem

Gary Jamieson
Can hardly wait for Christmas, one more day of school,

what will make it go quick, what will make this chill cool,

we wake up with a few more tests to go,

and noticed the frost on the windows glow.

Jumped out of bed to look outside,

we saw the other children playing on their snowmobile ride,

many people shoveling though not a car in sight,

this was my Christmas gift I wished for everyone last night.

Our mother came in our room to show her joy,

She had heard on the radio and will spend the day home with her boys,

downstairs we ran to get on our hats, mittens and boots,

we will go sledding, and make snow angels in our snowsuits.

Singing songs together like Jingle Bells and fa-la-la,

spending the day before Christmas with my brother and ma,

Can hardly wait for Christmas again next year,

I will wish for another snow day that the time is near.
