Snow Day Craft Fun

With the winter snow fast approaching there is the possibility that your kids will be spending some time home from school on snow days. It can be hard to keep the kids entertained on these days, as you might not have the same opportunities you have on the weekend. Snow days are great days for craft projects. In addition, here are just a couple easy ideas.

Soy Wax Candles

Materials: Mason Jars, Soy Wax, Color block, Fragrance Oil, Melting Can, Pot, Wick, Wax Thermometer

Step 1: Place water in a pot and than place some soy wax into your melting can. Boil the water, place your melting can with wax into the water, and wait for it to melt.

Step 2: Place your Wax thermometer into the wax and wait for it to be the temperature stated with the package you bought it in. (This can be different for different kinds of wax) once it is the Temperature indicated on your package remove from the heat.

Step 3: Let cool a few degrees than add your scent and color and mix it well.

Step 4: Wait until there is a slight crust on the sides of your melt pot than pour your wax into the Mason jar.

Step 5: Wait again for the wax to crust over than place your wick in.

In addition, you are done! Enjoy the candle once it has fully cooled your house will smell great.

Soy Wax Melting Tarts

Materials: Soy Wax, Color block, Fragrance Oil, Melting Can, Pot, Wax Thermometer, Mini Muffin Tin

Step 1: Place water in a pot and than place some soy wax into your melting can. Boil the water, place your melting can with wax into the water, and wait for it to melt.

Step 2: Place your Wax thermometer into the wax and wait for it to be the temperature stated with the package you bought it in. (This can be different for different kinds of wax) once it is the Temperature indicated on your package remove from the heat.

Step 3: Let cool a few degrees than add your scent and color and mix it well.

Step 4: Pour the wax into the Mini Muffin tin mold

Step 5: Once the wax has fully hardened place it into the freezer for a short while

Step 6: Take out of the freezer and they will release out easily

All done and ready to melt to make your house smell wonderful.

Small Dangle Flag Pin

Materials: Red, white and blue sea beads, pins small enough to allow the beads on

Step 1: Select your main pin that will go horizontally and as many vertical laying pins as you wish to have in your flag.

Step 2: Start placing you sea beads on the vertical pins to make your flag design. If you do not want to do the American flag, you can do other designs. A snowflake, Snowmen the limit is your creativity and the best part of this is if you make a small mistake, you just take the beads off.

Step 3: With the bead on the verticals apply them to the horizontal pin.

All set hand them out or attach them onto your jacket!
