Snow in January

James R. Ford
The snow is falling fast and thick

thought I'd think of something quick

"Looks like we're living in a snow globe", I said, with wild wonder

"I'm going to catch some on my tongue", she said, with laughter in her voice

"I think Godzilla could melt all this snow with his firey breath", he said, with a sense of authority

"I hope we get six inches!", I said, with hopes of a winter wonderland

"Then I'll make a beautiful snow angel", she said, with all the grace of a Disney princess

"My Pokemon would have a wicked good battle in these conditions", he said, while choosing up sides for a contest

"Watch your step! I almost went down!", I said, with a slippery, falling tone

"Me too!" , she exclaimed, in a measure of repeating confidence

"Why do we have school today! Can't these hillbillies see that it's freaking snowing like crazy. If there was no school today, I'd............."

And so it went on for another three to four blocks

and the snow kept on falling until five o'clock.

I am from Florida and have memories of snow as a child. Gave me a fun feeling!

    Thanks for comments, so far.
This one came upon me quick and, it was a pleasure to write. I'm surprised with the ending too. It was not too thought out, but nonetheless, satisfying.
