It only got worse though. A fellow classmate and I decide to get so get off an exit 22 in Brookville, Ohio, to get gas and are car starts to slide. We almost drove into oncoming traffic. By the time are car stopped sliding, we were stuck in a ditch between the lanes of the highway and the exit. I was in panic! We just stood there in the car. To make things worse my friend who I drove with had a phone interview! She is doing her interview while I'm on the phone with AAA. They were not much help, might I add.
Luckily another person saw us stuck in the ditch and decided to help us. Thank god for good people. So many people drove right passed us, but this guy didn't! I was feeling guilty though, because I'm a guy, I should be able to get this out myself! But I couldn't! We got back onto the freeway and decided to stay in town for the night. It would be too dangerous to drive home. I am stuck in Brookville, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. I'm basically in the middle nowhere. I guess I'm going be chilling in Brookville tonight!
It's stopped snowing for now, but it's supposed to snow more tonight and tomorrow. I just hope I'm not stuck here for too much longer. Driving is not recommended! Most of central and southern Ohio is in snow emergencies. There have been several accidents, and before we slid on the freeway exit, we saw a semi truck that had crashed. Everything began to shut down as well.
Weather is all over the place in the Midwest. Earlier in the week, the temperature was in the high 50s. Now it's freezing. I don't even want to go outside. It isn't not worth getting in a car accident. I hope this doesn't last for too long though. Winter should be almost over!
Today, I had a drive home I will never forget! I learned several things. Check the weather, dress warm, and don't depend on AAA. It is never safe to drive in the snow. I should have left earlier to beat it. We all learn from mistakes, though. And if you see someone on the side of the road and you have the ability to help them, do it. They will most likely appreciate it, I know I did.

Post a CommentIf you think Brookville is the middle of nowhere go to Pyrmont, the middle of a cornfield near Brookville !! Go Blue devils.
thanks everyone, we were safe, im back in columbus and its still a mess! Everyone is runnig out of salt.
Hope you are safe.
We got snow in Mississippi and West Tennessee too! It was a wonderful surprise. Thanks for the article.
well, I'm glad you got out of the ditch ok..be careful when you head back out. i'm in ny- so all we have is drenching rain right now, no snow, thank goodness. it's just really soggy around here.
I live in Brookville, and it is pretty nasty right now, and will be for quite a while. Yes, you are in the middle of nowhere practically, it's a small city with lots of farmland, which makes for a lot of drifting snow also with these winds hitting 40 moh.
Hope you got home safe! I don't think many people realized this storm would be so bad. By the way Mr. Purdue, you have GRAMMAR errors throughout this article. As an admissions counselor, I'd throw this writing sample in the denied pile in a second. You used the word ARE for OUR in at least 3 places - "are car starts to slide". And if you're going to Thank God, capitalize the G please. Sorry for the criticism but I thought you should know.
It's really bad around here too. Everything in Dayton was closed by around 4 or 5 today!
