Snowflakes

Doug Clore
Snowflakes barely heavier than air
Eventually descend to earth.
Winding this way and then that,
Looking for just the right spot.

Accentuating the erie awesome silence.
Covering ground and grass and branches;
Creating peaceful enchanted places.

Solitary silent places resonating in the heart.
Fresh snow falling gently at midnight.
Midnight seems brighter than noon-time.
Moonlight illuminating the sacred hush
Of a scene you will never forget.
