To Make This Recycled Snowman Centerpiece You Will Need:
1 finger nail polish bottle
White paint
Fabric scraps
Black paint
Cardboard scraps
Foam core
Paint
Paint pens
Cotton balls
Glue
Tooth picks
Raffia ribbon scraps
I love this little snowman ornament because the shapes of the different nail polish bottles can make some fun and wacky little snowmen!
The first step is to turn the fingernail polish bottle upside down on a sheet of fun foam in black. Trace the top of the lid on the fun foam. Now, draw a slightly larger circle on the outside that circle.
Cut the large circle out with scissors. Now, cut the smaller circle out and discard.
Now, use paint the lid with primer and let this dry. Once it dies you can pain the lid black. While the handle of the lid is drying you need to use small cotton balls or white pom poms and glue them on the body of the finger bail polish.
This will be the face of the snowman ornament. Let the white pom balls dry on the bottle. Once they have dried you can add some googly eyes on with glue a well.
Use a scrap piece of orange fun foam to cu tout the nose. Puff paint in black can be used to create the coal mouth.
Now, slip the black circle on top of the handle to create the top hat on your snowman. Use a strip of scrap fabric to create a band around the top hat on your snowman ornament.
Now, all your mini snowman ornament needs is a corn cob pipe. To make a small corn cob pipe cut off a half inch piece of toothpick. Now, cut a tiny piece of raffia ribbon. Roll it into a loop and stab the tooth pick into the cylinder of raffia to create the corn cob pipe. Be sure to use glue to hold them together.
Now, use glue or puff paint on the mouth to glue the corn cob pipe into place on the snowman ornament craft!
Tip: If you do not have cotton balls or white pom pom balls leftover from another craft, then you ca cover yoru snowman face with felt. Paint is also another options. Finally, if you have whit puff paint it looks really cute to create small dots of whit paint all over the body of the bottle to create the snowman face on the ornament.
To hang your snowman craft you can open your ornament hook and tie it around the base of the top hat, where the lid and the bottle meet.
