So Delicious Coconut Milk Yogurt in "Pina Colada": A Review

A couple of months ago I tried the Coconut Milk yogurts by So Delicious in the Passion Mango & Chocolate flavors. I thought these yogurts were really unique because they aren't made from cultured soy or cow's milk - they're actually made from the cultured milk of coconuts.

Both flavors were pretty delish so when I spotted the So Delicious Coconut Milk Yogurt in the Pina Colada flavor a couple of days ago at a local grocery store I decided to buy a cup, because pina colada is one of my favorite flavors. I love the taste of pineapples and coconuts together.

The So Delicious coconut yogurts cost $2 for a 6oz container.

The Pina Colada flavor contains water, organic coconut milk, organic evaporated cane juice, pineapples, chicory root extract, pectin, organic tapioca dextrose, natural flavors, algin (kelp extract), magnesium phosphate, tricalcium phosphate, locust bean gum, organic rice starch, citric acid, live cultures, carob bean gum, vegetable juice for color, carrageenan, dipotassium phosphate, and vitamin B12.

There are 140 calories in the So Delcious Coconut Milk Pina Colada. It also includes 6g of total fat, 6g of sat. fat, 0mg of cholesterol, 10mg of sodium, 22g of carbs, 2g of fiber, 17g of sugar, and 1g of protein.

As I stated, I really love a Pina Colada so I thought this yogurt would be awesome. I expected a vibrant and bold taste from this So Delicious yogurt, but instead it tasted very sweet and mostly mild and bland.

There isn't any pineapple juice in this yogurt, only fine slithers of pineapple thrown in, so it basically just tasted like sweet coconut milk. I thought that if pineapple juice had been added to this yogurt it would have tasted more like a true pina colada flavor, and I would have enjoyed it.

Other than the flavor, all of the So Delicious Coconut Milk Yogurts have an amazing texture. They are smooth and rich because of the oils from the coconut. The oils make the yogurt quite filling, yet I don't feel weighed down or heavy after eating a cup, because it still has a light texture.

Also, another great thing about the So Delicious Coconut Milk yogurts is that they don't have a sour after-taste like soy or dairy yogurts.

In the End...Although the So Delicious Coconut Milk Yogurt in Pina Colada has a great texture, I really wasn't a fan of this particular flavor. It's way too mild and doesn't have enough of a tangy pineapple taste so I won't be buying this flavor again. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
