So, When Did Pitchers and Catchers Report?
Gloat Now Yankees Fans, Cause in a Week, We Won't Care Anymore
27 World Series wins. That is astronomical. Unheard of. We will probably never see that again. Here is my congratulations. Hooray Yankee's! Congrats to Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada & Andy Pettitte-you all got your "one for the thumb" and that can't be taken away from you.
So, with all that said by one of the biggest Rays fans out there please read this Yankees fans....you have one week to celebrate the victory, then, I do not care to hear about it anymore.
It is no secret that I can not stand the Yankees, but what is even worse than the Yankees, is having to listen to a Yankees fan gloat. Nothing, and I repeat...NOTHING is worse than a Yankees fan after a World Series victory.
I would rather have an appendectomy performed by a med school dropout who is drunk and using only a rusty, bent fork than have to engage in a conversation with a Yankees fan after they just added another ring to the collection.
No matter how logical you try and make things sound to a pinstripe supporter, they will never agree with you.
Case in point...the Yankees spent more money to bring in C.C. Sabathia, Mark Teixeira, & A.J. Burnett than what last years AL Champs...the Tampa Bay Rays have invested in the entire 25 man payroll. Yet, you can't tell a Yankees fan that they bought a ring this year.
Would the Yankees have been contenders without Sabathia, Teixeira & Burnett? Probably. Would they have won the World Series? No, probably not.
But try and tell that to a Yankees fan, and all you will hear is "We deserve to spend that kind of money because we win" that is it.
Standard issue response. I guess you get it when you purchase your first navy blue New Era cap with an NY on the front.
Another fine example of what drives me insane about a Yankees fan...as a whole, Yankees fans talk about championships and teams that they did NOT see play. Yes, the franchise has a great history...but come on, get real...you are 25 years old...you did not see Ty Cobb, Mickey Mantle or Roger Maris play, you really can't take credit for being a fan during that era.
People like the Yankees because they win, or they were taught when they are young to like the Yankees.
When I lived in Florida, I can't begin to tell you how many Yankees fans you would see walking down the street. Stop and ask any of them if they had ever lived in New York, or been to Yankees Stadium, and less than 20 percent would actually hail from the Big Apple.
Which tells me this...if they Yankees did not win, they would not have the following they see now....no one paid attention to the Rays, until they started garnering national attention for winning, then...all of the sudden, the Rays fans show up.
Bandwagoners are everywhere, just no one has fallen off the Yankees band wagon because ole George spends money like Obama, and when you spend money like that in the world of sports, it is easy to put a winning product on the field each and every season.
So, once again, congratulations Yankees fans..."you" won another one. Take your time to celebrate, because remember, in a week, we will all be tired of listening to you.
Now...all that matters is...when do pitchers and catchers report?

Alright- then by your logic, we as citizens of the United States of America should not celebrate the Fourth of July since we weren't around, right? You are bemoaning Yankee fans for being proud of their team's "ancestry" as tacky as that sounds. I'm not saying all fans have to do it- if you have the motivation to actually learn up on your team, all the more power to you. But saying you can't celebrate a team's great history just because you weren't around goes against the basic idea of what history is supposed to be. We all do it- whether it be our country's history, our family's his
