And usually are filled with cheer
But please don't focus on a bird
Or stuffing, sauce or gravy curd
To fill your hearts with gratitude
And determine your attitude
Please, remember the brave of old
Who sacrificed, endured the cold
To worship God in rest and peace
To make a new life for nephew, niece
And son & daughter near and far
The pilgrimage that started with a star
On a Christmas night provoked
These travelers to invoke
The only Name that bears repeating
Christ Jesus led these sheep a bleating
On Plymouth Rock and Jamestown too
So freedom could ring for me and you
