So, You Are Getting Married

The Day Has Finally Come. He Asked You to Marry Him and You Said Yes!

Do not be concerned, she read, as she turned the pages of the latest Bridal Magazine. She felt that she would learn a lot from it so she bought it and took it home with her to learn about How to Save Money on a Wedding.

How to Cut Costs on a Bridal Gown?

Rent a wedding gown instead of buying one. Wedding gowns are usually worn only one time and then are folded, sprinkled with mothballs and placed into a box on a shelf in the closet. There they remain for the rest of your life. By the time you daughter gets married she will want a wedding gown more in fashion.

How to Plan a Wedding That is Fun and Inexpensive?

Get married in the summer or late Spring and have a Beach Wedding. Getting married on sand of an exclusive resort is unique and priced to what your budget allows. Take your wedding vows outdoors in front of a Justice of the Peace.

Rent a wooden plank and use it as an aisle to walk down. Have the hotel prepare a lunch for the guests and set it outside, on tables, in front of the water on the sand. Bring your own baked Tiered Cupcake Wedding Cake that you prepared beforehand. Hire an inexpensive MC to handle the music and after the wedding change into a sexy bathing suit and take the first swim in the water as husband and wife.

How to Have a Fun Yet Inexpensive Honeymoon?

Plan to have your honeymoon in an upscale hotel. If possible, find one that has mirrors on the ceiling and do your own thing.

Second best or included would be a hot tub in the room. Order wine, strawberries and whipped cream to be sent to the room. Create your own fun.

Keep Your Honeymoon Location a Secret!

Do not tell anyone where you are going. Keep your honeymoon plans a secret. If you must tell someone than tell the person you trust the most. In an emergency situation it is best to have someone able to contact you.

Enjoying your own wedding is important. If you have money to spend and not feel the pinch then by all means go all out. However, in these days and times when the economy is as it is, it might be best to make the best wedding you can or want under the circumstances.

Weddings that are extremely expensive are mostly to show others you can afford it. Do not be embarrassed if you pinch your pennies - it is your wedding day and you can do what you feel is best and can afford without paying it off for most of your life.

We eloped, but maybe we'll do a renewal someday? I dread the planning so this worked beautifully for me :)

Took care of this matter long ago, but the tips are great for those yet in the running. Happy New Year, Sondra. Thanks for all the articles

I remember a couple we knew way back when, they had to have the BEST of everything and then came the divorce settlement that paid off the lavish wedding reception!

I dunno, Sondra. Somewhere in the "rented wedding gown theme" lies a joke just waiting to come out, lol! Good job!

Great article and you make a very good point. A lavish wedding isn't necessary to have fun!

Great advice, Sondra. A wedding can still be elegant and beautiful without being costly.

Charlotte I think renewing vows is great and it does not have to be lavish and expensive if funds are a problem. I was so nervous at each of my weddings that at the time I did not enjoy it as much as I would renewing the vows. Go for it friend. After 50 years of marriage I think anyone could use it.

I'd love to renew our vows on our 50th anniversary.
