So Much to Do at Crown Center

Located in downtown Kansas City you will find the popular Crown Center. This is a famous spot to go whether you are visiting Kansas City or if you have lived here your entire life. There is always something new to see.

Crown Center offers three levels of more than 60 shops and restaurants. It surrounds the world headquarters of Hallmark Cards, Inc. There is free admission tot he Hallmark Visitors Center. While there, you can visit with Hallmark craftspeople as they demonstrate hot foil stamping and die cutting. You can also press a button to create a star-shaped bow that you can take home as a souvenir.

While there, you can visit the Coterie Theater. It was named one of the five best theaters in the nation for young audiences by "TIME" magazine. It is a not-for-profit professional theater for youth and family audiences. There is also the American Heartland Theater which provides live, broadway-style productions, family comedies, musicals, dramas and mystery thrillers.

One great feature for kids is Kaleidoscope. Children can explore under the sea, in outer space, in a country cottage and in a big city. With the help of colored paper, crayons, glue, yarn and stickers, children can explore, create and discover.

During the winter time, the Crown Center Ice Terrace is a popular attraction. It is Kansas City's only public, outdoor ice skating rink and attracts over 50,000 skaters every year.

Some of the favorite places to eat include Fritz's Railroad Restaurant, which delivers your food by overhead electric trains. There is also Skies, which is Kansas City's only revolving restaurant, and sits on top of the Hyatt. Another favorite is The American Restuarant, Kansas City's only Mobil Four-Star restaurant.

Crown Center offers fine hotels, entertainment, dining, shopping, offices and residential living. Outside you will find seven rows of seven jets that make up the Crown Center Squar Fountain. It's a wildly popular destination to cool-off during the Kansas City summer. Also, don't forget to enjoy some of the wonderful artwork. Crown Center attracts more than five million visitors each year.
