So Rich that You Are Poor

Roni ODonnell
Why can't you see what all you have?
How fortunate you are.

Why can't you see what all you have?
Not your house, your clothes, your car.

You have so much, you're blessed and rich
but you can't see that far.

The love, the friends, those precious kids
How fortunate you are.

Open your eyes, your mind and view
Just see what all there is.

Don't always be so negative
for more no need to wish

Until you learn just what you have
you'll always be so poor

To see what all you truly have
to open up that door.

Until you do so it's so sad
Why can't you see what all you have?

You definitely have to see past all the "stuff," especially with how they push it in today's society.

I love that line "until you learn what you have, you'll always be poor". So true.

Oh Rhonda, So you're a poet too. I used to write a lot of poetry, and still do at times. Have you ever read my answer to "To A Poet That Died Young?" by Edna St. Vincent Millay (in my AC content).

So true, so lucky to have what we do. Those poor people in Haiti.

Very true, we always want more, and are never happy with the brilliant things we have.
