So You Think You Can Dance

Top 4 Dancers Revealed

Jennifer Posey
Tonight's episode of So You Think You Can Dance starts off with a group performance of "The Rose" by Bette Midler, choreographed by Mandy Moore. It is such a graceful, beautiful piece and a great way to show off the top six dancers' talents.

Adam Shankman announces that, in addition to the money, the winner of the show will also get a featured dance role in a movie he is producing. I think that's a great addition and hope they do something like that from now on. The money is wonderful, of course, but like he said, there is great value in dance experience.

Before Cat reveals tonight's results, the judges address the top six as a group.

Nigel: Everyone loves applause, but as a dancer, you must prepare yourself for rejection. You can't let that get you down. It must propel you forward. Even though two will be rejected tonight, each contestant got over one million votes last night.
Mary: Watching the six of you just now in the opening number by Mandy Moore was so beautiful, dignified, classy, strong. You show a maturity. You have just grown so much. We talk about adding layers in someone's dance career, and we can see that in each and every one of you. I am definitely going to be proud of whoever wins. You all deserve it.
Adam: Backstage, you guys are in the dressing room, and I hear the chatter and laughter. You guys are such beautiful, kind, sweet, and genuinely good people, and I want you, more than anything, to take that with you into this life. And I know I want very much for you to remember every moment of this experience. You have shown the best of yourself in front of millions of people, and that can never be taken away from you. You are famous now. You have fans, as the millions of votes attest. Be kind to them, and show them respect because they love you, and they respect you. It's so important.

Cat announces that all dancers will dance solos tonight for one more, and possibly final, chance to show America what they can do.

Courtney "Almost Lover" by A Fine Frenzy
Mark "Wind It Up (Original Neptunes Mix)" by Gwen Stefani
Katee "Beautiful Disaster" by Jon McLaughlin
Joshua "I Can Make You Dance" by Zapp
Chelsie "The Girl's Gone Wild" by Travis Tritt
Twitch "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin

The special performance tonight is by Lil Demon, a six-year-old break dancer. He dances to "Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force. After his performance, Cat picks him up to interview him. We find out he's been dancing for two years and is taught by his brother. Maybe we'll see him on the show in a few years.

Cat brings the girls out first, and after clips of each dancer, she reveals that Katee is safe. For the boys, it's Joshua who can relax. Twitch and Mark are left to sweat it out with Courtney and Chelsie until after Lady GaGa's performance of "Let's Dance".

Cat finally announces that Courtney and Twitch will be joining Katee and Joshua in the finale. Mark and Chelsie are going home.

Well, my predictions weren't accurate, but I'm pleased. These have been four of my favorite dancers from the beginning of the competition. What do you think? Did America get it right?
