"So You Think You Can Dance?" 2010 Seventh Season Features 11 Dancers and All-Stars

Let's Dance, Let's Dance!

What would you do if someone said you had slightly lazy feet?

That's what Nigel Lythgoe told competitor Cristina Santana on "So You Think You Can Dance?" Thursday night after she and two all-stars danced to Kelly Rowland's "Work."

Lazy Feet: "Nasty Nigel" Wasn't Too Nasty Tonight

The judges were mostly full of accolades for the 11 dancers, and the "slightly lazy feet" comment was about as critical as "Nasty Nigel" got Thursday night-he told Alexie Agdeppa and Melinda Sullivan they were so good he couldn't distinguish them from the two all-stars dancing with them. Lythgoe earned the "Nasty Nigel" nickname for being a tough guy judge on the British TV show, "Popstars."

But the "slightly lazy feet" critique was constructive criticism, and is sure to inspire Santana to work even harder. Indeed, when the judging and voting officially kick in next week, she may fare better than the other contestants.

Sick Entertainment is a Good Thing and I'm So Single

Lauren Froderman and Kent Boyd started the night with St. Vincent's "Paris is Burning," and afterwards judge Adam Shankman told them, "That was so good it was sick. That was disgustingly good."

Boyd caught my attention during his ten-second intro spot at the top of the hour; he gave his age as 18, but then became nervous and floundered. He recovered enough, though, to blurt out "I'm single," right before the buzzer sounded. An 18-year-old is single? I'm not surprised, but that was a pretty good way to tell millions of girls you're available, Kent. Good work.

A Freak and a Stallion

Adam Shankman called Billy Bell a freak and Alex Wong a stallion-in the best way possible, of course. This was after they danced to This Bitter Earth's "On the Nature of Daylight", which was choreographed by Mia Michaels.

"Billy, you're a freak of nature," Shankman said, of the way Bell moved his body. "Alex, you're a stallion."

Of course, all the dancers look good to me, but this is coming from someone who has no connection to the dancing world. The real show begins next week when the voters and judges weigh in.
