'So You Think You Can Dance': Alexie Agdeppa Eliminated, Usher and Justin Bieber Perform
Ten Dancers Left to Dance
The three women received the lowest scores from viewer phone-in votes, and were required to dance solo to enable judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mia Michaels and Adam Shankman to make the final decision.
For her solo performance, Agdeppa danced to Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long," but it wasn't enough to keep her on the show. "You're such a cute little dancer," said Lythgoe," after telling Agdeppa she was eliminated. "You're so talented, you're so beautiful."
Alexie Agdeppa Shown the Door
Indeed, the judge's comments bordered on condescending. "Just know that we support you," said Michaels, adding that they loved her. "You will always be part of this family." Exactly what Michaels meant was unclear, but it sounds like something people say when they're caught up in the moment of a regrettable but necessary situation.
Agdeppa handled the news well and kept a smile on her face. The elimination from SYTYCD will not stop her from dancing if it's what she really wants to do, and if she believes she has the talent to do it.
Sullivan tap danced her way through James Brown's "I Got the Feeling," to keep her slot in the competition, which was surprising since she hadn't garnered great reviews from the judges the night before. Lythgoe revealed to Cristina that all the judges agreed she had danced for her life during her solo performance. Now if she can keep that up for the rest of the season, who knows what could happen?
Usher and Justin Bieber Perform
While the judges were comparing notes on the solo dances, R&B singer Usher performed his hit song "OMG" and Justin Bieber debuted his "Sombody to Love" music video with Usher.
