'So You Think You Can Dance August 11, 2010: Who Will Win Finale? Lauren, Kent or Robert?

Robert's Wardrobe Malfunction, Lauren is Music, Kent Knows Art

Lauren Froderman hit the jackpot on the August 11 episode of 'So You Think You Can Dance.' That's when Judge Mia Michaels said she admired Lauren's combination of strength and sexiness, and that if she were still dancing she would want to dance like her. As if that wasn't enough, Judge Adam Shankman told Lauren if music had a persona, it would be her.

Robert Roldan and Kent Boyd got their share of praise, too, with Judge and Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe saying that all three contestants were worthy of winning, and he would be happy with whoever wins.

Of course, the final decision is up to the call-in voters, whose last chance to vote was at the end of the August 11 program. The three dancers had plenty of opportunity to strut their stuff during the two hour show; each had to perform solo in addition to four choreographed pieces.

Kent and All-Star Lauren performed a Bollywood dance in extremely sparkly costumes, which got good reviews from the judges. Just looking at the costumes made me feel uncomfortable, and I don't know how Kent managed to dance so well wearing that long shirt.

Lauren teamed up with All-Star Twitch for a presidential debate piece, and she later danced a contemporary routine with Robert using a pillow as a prop. She executed some smooth, fluid moves, seemingly without effort.

Robert had a wardrobe malfunction of his own; after he'd danced a Broadway piece with All-Star Kathryn, it was revealed he'd split his pants during the routine. Being Robert, he hammed it up a bit, flashing a naughty look over his shoulder as he revealed the split to the judges and audience.

While all three dancers are so good it hurts, I predict Kent will win. Maybe it's the lightness with which his body moves, maybe it's the teenage girls who scream for him, maybe it's his honesty in being himself.

Lauren is fantastic, too, though, and has the ability to transform herself from a squeaky-clean girl-next-door type to a sexy and strong dancer who doesn't back down from anything the choreographers throw at her. She gets extra credit for dancing in heels.

Robert's classic looks will never go out of style; it's as if he was born old because he has that old-soul quality about him, and it doesn't hurt that he loves his mother! When he dances, he looks more like an adult than any of the other contestants do; perhaps some of those teenage girls who scream for Kent are intimidated by that.
