High Points
The very first audition is Teddy Tedholm. To make himself stand out, Teddy wore some crazy plaid pants (that his mom bought him off a golf website) and a bow tie with a button up shirt. As it turns out, Teddy didn't need his outfit to be memorable, since his dancing spoke for itself. He got compliments on a surprisingly interesting and entertaining contemporary dance to the words of the song, which usually doesn't work. It worked for Teddy, because he got his ticket straight to Vegas.
Next to get a ticket straight to Vegas was breaker Jean Lloret. His moves were amazing - his awesome floor moves were definitely worthy of the ticket. At the finish of his audition, he even got a standing ovation from the judges.
We got a shortened glimpse of contemporary dancer Kimara Wood, who flew across the stage. His athleticism and beautiful dancing also got him a ticket to Vegas.
Channing Cooke, a gorgeous ice cream scooper, went to choreography after catching the judges attention with her contemporary piece. The few broken parts of her routine made them want to see more, and Channing proved herself with the Latin piece choreography threw at her. She moved on to Vegas.
Crumper Russel Ferguson was the first crumper to make it through to Vegas. After clearing the Latin dance choreography, he got his ticket. Although Lil' C wasn't there, he was in spirit as the judges told him he was 'Bucc'.
Karen and Matthew Hauer, a husband and wife Latin Ballroom Cha-Cha performers, blew away the judges with their routine. The judges sent them straight to Vegas.
Gene Bersten, a Latin Dancer with no partner, performed a great dancing routine solo. Although he was entertaining and had all the moves, his eyebrows drew the attention away from his talent. He looked like a cross between crazy and desperate, and the judges told him he needed to figure out how to control his facial expression so he wouldn't scare the audience. They unanimously put him through to choreography, where he took their advice and got his ticket to Vegas.
Kevin Hunte, who auditioned in Season 3, finally got his ticket after a scathing Tyce review (Kevin came after a long string of horrible auditions, putting Tyce in a bad mood - earning him the nickname 'Dr. Evil'). He went to choreography, and proved he had actually been practicing to improve his dancing.
Other than these dancers, 29 more got their tickets to dance in Vegas.
Goodbyes
6'8" tapper Ryan Casey impressed the judges with his foot skills, but needed to work on his arm coordination. He made it through to choreography, but didn't make the cut to Vegas. He promises we'll be seeing more of him in a future season.
Fabrizio Jenkins, AKA 'Breeze' performed a weak hip-hop/pop and lock routine but he was fun and entertaining enough to get through to choreography. An ankle twist during his original audition prevented him from even attempting choreography, so he dropped out.
Pointless
Paul Magliotto danced a style he invented, called 'Movement Invention' - according to him a combination of dance moves from clubs in the Bronx and ballet. He caught everyone's attention with his insanely bright blue shiny spandex pants. His dancing was entertaining, but people were laughing at his crazy moves. Not only was his audition painful to watch, he was also 46 years old - too old to be on the show.
