So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) 2010 Winner and Finale Results
Lauren Won After Being the Last Woman Standing!
Going in to it, Kent was a favorite to win the episode - but Lauren and Robert weren't too far behind. Seeing these individuals perform once more would solidify who the voting public would decide as the best dancer of the trio.
Lauren was the last woman standing in the season before even going head to head with Robert and Kent. This was an amazing feat all its own, and even if she hadn't been voted the favorite by the general public she could at least have some bragging rights.
Robert was eliminated early on, leaving Kent and Lauren to battle on for the victory. But before we learned who was the ultimate winner, we had two hours of fanfare to go through.
Of course, thanks to the Internet there wasn't much suspense over the "surprise" guest visitors. Ellen Degeneres the one-season long judge on American Idol made an appearance and always made us have a few laughs.
It's sort of ironic that Ellen Degeneres was present at the SYTYCD season finale. She recently resigned from her American Idol post as judge, and so it is really strange that she came to this Fox show, too.
SYTYCD finales aren't as suspenseful as the American Idol finale, but still the same it's an important event in entertainment. It marks the end of the summer reality show, and leaves us wondering what's next for Fox.
Now that Lauren won the SYTYCD season finale, the focus from FOX is now on who will replace Simon Cowell an Ellen Degeneres as American Idol judges, in addition to figuring out the future of the favorite franchise. Fox reality shows have brought us many important stars, such as Adam Lambert, Fantasia Barrino, and Kelly Clarkson.
So congrats to Lauren for winning, even after her injury and even after being the only woman left standing in the competition.
What did you think? Were you pleased with this years So You Think You Can Dance winner, or did you think that one of the other two men left standing should have been the winner of this year's SYTYCD season?

lauren deserved it!!!girl power;;yeah!!!
I loved Lauren, Robert and Kent. I wanted Kent to win, but Lauren deserved it.
I wanted Robert to win.
That article was horrible, why did the writer go on so much about American Idol and Fox programming, when this was and should have just focused on Lauren. I'm think it was great that Lauren was chosen over Kent, but I had my fears that the views were going to be stuck on Kent. Congats! to Lauren..
im very happy lauren won!!!! she deserved it, shes an incredible dancer!!! GO LAUREN!!! hahah (:(:(:(:
Way to ruin the near end of the show. who is Ellen? And why was she allowed to rob we the adudience of a recap on video of Alex's best dance? Thank goodness for ff on dvr.
They could have at least brought on Paula.
The young tapper may be great now but get him in ballet fast cause he wouldn't last two weeks on the show with-out it.
Nigel dancing? Thanks for sparing us. Don't think any of us were fooled. Maybe he could have sang since he doesn't know what show he is on...
Thanks for bringing back Mary for a hoot.
Especially Hooray for GREAT dancing and choreography this season, even if it had to be interspersed with the judges constant patting of themselves on the back.
Mia? Always either spot on, or dead wrong.
Actually didn't usually mind listening to Adam this season.
This show is our favorite and after watching all of them I have to say this was the best one ever. The fact that they brought back all stars and the fact that the contestants for this show were the most interesting and enjoyable made it a one, two punch for the success of this show. I am glad that Lauren won...she is such a strong, talented dancer but any of the top 4 or 5 were great. I am confused a bit by what Nygel Lithgo said about Billy's failure to move on. He is afterall, in my opinion, a beautiful soul. Kent is such a mature dancer for his age and Robert is graceful and interesting to watch, sort of like Gene Kelly. Congrats to Lauren. Looking forward to seeing her as a future all star.
robert all the way:
