So You Think You Can Dance - Top 8 Performances

Only eight dancers are left on So You Think You Can Dance. Since this year's finale is the top 6, the bottom 2 after tonight are the last dancers eliminated from the finale show.

Kathryn and Ryan

Dance: Disco
Choreographer: Doriana Sanchez

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Thought style suited Kathryn, fantastic. Not sure about Ryan's sequined shirt. Felt Ryan was a little stiff and placed. Enjoyed it. (Mary disagreed and told him that arms are supposed to be straight).
Mary: Won't be the last dance if they continue to dance like that. Kathryn is absolutely peaking at the right time. Believe the chemistry, love them together. Attacking it, synchronized great lifts. Ryan perfect, on-point partnerwork. Can't wait to see other dance.
Adam: So much fun. Definitely put a smile on his face. Ryan proved that real men can wear sequins. Kathryn looks beautiful, has grown so much.

Dance: Cha-Cha
Choreographer: Jason Gilkeson

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Choreographer - turned ballroom into entertainment. Kathryn, as a contemporary got cha-cha and disco. Had to be scary. She looked like she was at home. Ryan perfect, looked magnificent. Connections perfect. Two of them together were magical.
Mary: Wow!!! That was on fire. Whole floor was on fire, routine was on fire from beginning to end. Made it look effortless. Kathryn totally sexy and phenomenal. Ryan - unbelievable. Star tonight. HOT TAMALE TRAIN!!!
Adam: HUGE night for Jason. One of the best ballroom routines EVER on this show. SO hot! They were VERY connected. Kathryn is surging, it is HUGE for her. Better every week. Awesome teamwork.

Molly and Jakob

Dance: Viennese Waltz
Choreographer: Jason Gilkeson

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Beauty of dance. Took his breath away. Beautiful choreography. Had the constant flow required. Everything fit, they were both excellent.
Mary: What's not to like about them? Nothing ordinary about the two of them, the routine or how they dance. Not easy, not close to their style, but did absolutely great. Mollee priceless, Jakob awesome partner.
Adam: Could've watched it for two more hours. So beautiful. Great coupling, great choreographer, great piece of music and great idea. Mollee is peaking, really great for her. Jakob one of the best dancers ever.

Dance: Broadway
Choreographer: Joey Dowling

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Beautiful choreographer. Mollee should go into Broadway. Jakob reminds him of Joel Gray. This style is absolutely perfect for the pair of them, outstanding again.
Mary: Fell right into that style. Mollee really captured it. Identical moves. Amazing evening for both of them, they both brought it on.
Adam: Fantastic job Joey showing off the best parts of the dancers. Rose above that with great acting performances. Jakob really helped Mollee raise to the next level. Jakob one of the best dancers ever on the show.

Ellenore and Legacy

Dance: Contemporary
Choreographer: Travis Wall

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Loved that it was so dangerous. Fighting for a place in the finals, the choreographer pushes you to the limit. Anything could've gone gone wrong. The most dangerous routine on this season, and it went well. Travis Wall may just get an Emmy for this dance.
Mary: It was THAT good. SO strong. Tailor made for the two of them. Ellenore beautiful, Legacy's stunts amazing. Both did unbelievable.
Adam: They murdered it. Show is SO exciting - they nailed it. Choreographer used them to maximize the dancers to their fullest extent.

Dance: Hip-Hop
Choreographer: NappyTabs / Tabitha and Napoleon

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Choreography and concept overriding the dancing. Not enough dancing, too strange. Dancing not really together.
Mary: Kind of a let down beyond the beginning. Disappointed after that. Didn't hit for her. Not too synchronized, maybe the costumes.
Adam: Heavy concept number. Not his favorite routine of the night. Dancing was good. Not bad, not great.

Ashleigh* and Russell

Dance: Hip-Hop
Choreographer: Shane Sparks

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Great. Sorry Ashleigh wasn't there. Rachel was great at stepping in at the last moment. Shane didn't compromise, knew that it was the finale. Russell gave him everything in the dance, and great performance. Russell is excellent. Have a feeling they'll see him in the finale.
Mary: In love with Russell. Always lay it on the line, did again. Attacked every move. Nobody does it like him.
Adam: Missed Ashleigh. Solid routine, old school hip-hop. Russell hitting SO hard. He was smokin', did great.

(Nikul's assistant Alisha)
Dance: Bollywood
Choreographer: Nakul Dev Mahajan

Judges Opinions:
Nigel: Nigel's eyes on Russell even though Alisha was the expert. Magnetic quality about Russell. Compliments on not only this evening but the entire season.
Mary: Props for dancing with three partners in two days. Burst onto stage and excited everyone. Great way to end the show. Made something difficult and fun. Russell mentioned that Ashleigh was fantastic, the judges all were sad they didn't get to see her do the Bollywood.
Adam: Nikul had an exciting and fun routine that was just about dancing. Execution excellent, and blew joy out of every pore. Made dancing as an art joyful and fun. Fantastic smile and energy. Think he's in the finale.
