The opportunities increase for Foreclosure Agent Specialists in today's economy. If you have decided to become a Foreclosure Agent Specialist there are a few things you need to know including but not limited to the many types of foreclosures you will encounter. Foreclosure Agent Specialists are in some cases real estate agents who have decided to specialize in foreclosures. Check with your local state regulatory agencies to learn if there are any special requirements you may need to complete before becoming a Foreclosure Agent Specialist. You may be required to obtain a real estate license before you can become a Foreclosure Agent Specialist. There are a few training organizations that will provide you courses in regards how to sell HUD (United States Department of Housing and Urban Development) Homes, understanding the different types of financing organizations such as the Veterans Housing Association (VHA) and bank options, how to forge relationships with lenders, buyers, and other real estate agents and how to market yourself as a business. You may also find training through your local real estate agent or office.

It is suggested that you network with buyers, real estate agents and brokers. Continue to stay informed about the many changes in financing options and other real estate changes by joining the organizations and publications available to your market. Join the organizations local to you, market yourself as the expert in your field, and develop a business and marketing plan.
