So You Want to Generate an Online Income?

Do You Really Have What it Takes to Succeed with an Online Income Opportunity?

Cynthia Nichols
So you want to be someone who makes their living online? You've read about some supposedly lucrative opportunities - maybe you even have one that you're all signed up for, and you're already envisioning the day when you'll be able to quit your job and live entirely off your online income. But, do you have what it takes to succeed? The harsh reality is that most people do not.

Before you do another thing you need to ask yourself some serious questions and you need to answer them in total honesty.

Probably the first, and most logical thing you need to ask yourself is, "Is this real?" The spiels given by the trumpeters of any online opportunity can be very convincing and too many people have fallen for too many of them, only to find out that the incredible opportunity was nothing but a scam. So, before you jump into anything with both feet it is imperative that you do some in depth research. Start with Google, and quite often that's as far as you will have to go. Simply search Google using the name of the offer, or even the name of the person touting it. You will be provided with a wealth of information instantly and can often deduce from it whether the offer is one you want to pursue or not.

If the offer costs money to get started with, you must ask yourself, "Can I afford to lose this amount of money?" If you can't then it's best to look for something else.

There is, as the saying goes, "no free lunch" and even if you have found an opportunity that you really want to go with, you will get out of it no more than you put into it. You must ask yourself, "Do I have the time to put into this?" Starting anything that is going to be worthwhile takes substantial time. You need to be able to put in time where you are able to completely focus on getting your new venture off the ground. You also need to spend time learning all you can about your new business. Knowledge truly is power.

You will next need to know the answer to this question, "How long can I afford to do this without making a certain amount of money(you fill in the amount) on a consistent basis?" You don't build anything of value overnight or without some form of overhead. And you don't, no matter what the offer says, ever simply "plug it in, turn it on and forget it" Any business takes work- real honest to goodness work and effort. If you can't afford financially to give your new business time to get off the ground it might be best not to begin in the first place. So many people, full of hopes and dreams of internet riches have started a business and then simply abandoned it because they just could not afford to keep waiting for it to produce the income they needed. Know how much time you can afford to allow to pass before making a profit you can rely on.

If you've spent any time at all learning about or searching for ways to make money online, you know about the necessity of marketing. And that means you have to have good solid ways to answer these next two questions, "Can I market this?""How am I going to market this?" You can have the best product or offer in the world, but it's of no value to you whatsoever if you don't have a reliable means of telling others about it.

You've come up with answers to all of the above questions and if you are now convinced that you can do this thing, there's just one question left to answer, "Are you ready to get started?"
