So You Want to Work from Home

I have two small children, both under five. When I had my first, a baby girl I found myself dropping her off at a babysitter six weeks after she was born. Lucky for me I knew the babysitter well, so I completely trusted her. But I was very jealous because I was paying her to raise my child. As time moved on I had to put my daughter in a daycare. She spent a full work day in a facility and I felt horrible. A few years later when I had my son I vowed that I would not make the same mistake twice. With the advances in technology it is totally possible to find work at home.

So where should you begin your hunt for a telecommuting job? I started at Google. I simply typed work from home. I found a host of websites that provided free information about jobs that allowed you to telecommute. Then I started my search all over again. I went to the Google search bar and typed work from home jobs. There are plenty of reputable sites that provide the information for free. If you are ever asked to pay to work for a company move on.

When I first started my search I was bombarded with invitations to take surveys, and read email. While that may work for some people, I wanted a real career. I am happy to say that I am gainfully employed with a business publication that pays me faithfully every week.

It does not matter what type of work you do customer service, sales, administration the possibilities are endless. Telecommuting is the new wave in the business world today. All you need to see your dreams of working from home come true is a computer, high speed internet, and unlimited long distance. I am confident if you have these three things you will be successful in find a telecommuting job.

I am happy to tell other mothers that there is hope. They don't have to make the sacrifice of dumping their children at a daycare. There are plenty of companies that offer telecommuting positions. I can speak honestly in saying that working from home is the most fulfilling experience I have had.
