You walking this way

And me walking that

So what's going on?

You didn't smile when I saw you

And you weren't happy when I called

A bit too occupied it seemed

You didn't care when I cried.

So what's going on with you today?

What's going on behind my back?

Just who are you looking to?

What is it that you lack?

And those honey coated lies

Don't you know I've heard every word before?

Yet still they bring the waters to my eyes

And they still make my heart so sore.

So what's going on with you baby?

Are those three words way too much?

Or do my gentle ways appear as lazy maybe hazy?

Because the power is leaving my loving hands clutch.

Now I see how this thing is going

Against the tide I've always really been flowing

And knowing? There's no true way of

Like a salmon upstream I'm going.

And my season with you is nearly over,

I'd like to say you are still the one

Still the viscous circle that I draw with a lover

Still I finish where I begun.

Still I finished where I began

That starting line is where it all does end.
