Soccer Mom to Soccer Child
From Preschool Soccer to Soccer Star, We "Soccer Moms" Are Proud Every Step of the Way
It's time to watch our number eight.
Tie your cleats, tuck in your shirt,
Then go have fun but don't get hurt!
Kick the other way, that is not your goal.
Don't worry son, just "go, go go".
Look, I think he kicked it in!
The parents say this is our first win!
Seasons come and seasons go.
Cleats to tie, highs and lows.
Then one day you cannot believe your eyes.
Is that your little boy in disguise?
He passes it here, he dribbles it there,
All the crowd yells, "yes it is fair!".
He has learned skills, practiced and played,
His love for the sport grew as the years faded.
I may not be tying your cleats anymore,
But I am proud of you, son, even if you don't score!
