Social Effects of Broken Home

Broken home is a social phenomenon, which is now widespread. Many factors are influencing this in the society, among these is poverty of couple. When couple cannot afford the basic necessities of life, this could lead to broken home. In family culture, husband is expected to be the leader of the family, the husband thus supposed to cater for the family. When the husband therefore fails to perform his roles, it can lead to conflict and infidelity of the wife, which can lead to broken home.

Issue of barreness i.e. the inability to have child (ren) by couple can lead to broken home. The joy of every marriage is for the couple to be blessed with children but where child is not available, it can lead to frustration and eventual separation of the couple.

Infidelity of either of the couple could further lead to broken home. When either the husband or wife is disloyal to the extent of having extramarital affair, this can lead to conflict, which can eventually lead to separation.

Incompatibily of couple could lead to conflict. It is expected that couple should understand themselves after marriage. However, when there are too much conflicts among them, these could lead to separation. When one of the couple is affected by prolonged and non-curable disease or ailment, this can lead to frustration of the other partner, which can lead to broken home.

This issue of broken home can be avoided if couple are faithful to each other, more commited to eradicating poverty and try to be tolerant of each other.
