Social Networking Sites:These are sites that allow people to interact with one another via instant messaging, profiles with some personal information, forums, and chat rooms. These are all moderated and safe.
Social Networking #1: Mypraize (www.mypraize.com)
This website is a Christian MySpace alternative. Each member fills out a profile with information such as age, state/region, religious background, etc. The pages are viewable by anyone unless they ask for it to be private, or viewable by friends only. Other features of this website are a moderated forum and chat room, groups that can be joined based on interests, and a music section with Christian music.
Social Networking #2: JCFaith (www.jcfaith.com)
This website is very similar to mypraize. Members have profiles that can be public or private, based on the user's preferences. There are also additional features, such as the forum and chat. In addition, there are games, news, polls, and other great things to keep teenagers and adults entertained. This website is moderated by many people, including pastors as well as Christian laypeople.
Social Networking #3: DittyTalk (www.dittytalk.com)
This is another site that is similar to both mypraize and JCFaith. This website is the most similar to MySpace because it allows a lot of customization. Users can customize their profiles with approved music, backgrounds, and graphics. The other websites are a little more limited on what a user can change. This website also has a built-in instant messaging program that allows users to talk to each other easily. DittyTalk is also moderated by both paid staff and volunteers who are working to keep the site clean.
Social Networking #4: Xianz (www.xianz.com)
This website has all the features of Mypraize, JCFaith, and DittyTalk combined. There are chat rooms, groups, musicians, forums, and instant messaging. This website is not as moderated as the others, but it does focus on keeping teenagers safe and the site clean. Two additional features of this site are classified ads and an event calendar. You can add your birthday, high school graduation, and other important events and your friends will be reminded and can send you an e-card. Also, this is the only website that is adding a VIP program. There aren't any details available except that it will allow the user more control and functionality.
These websites are great alternatives to MySpace and will help keep your children out of trouble online, but truthfully, the best defense is to teach your children internet safety tips. You children will listen to you more than they will to someone else. Be there for them and help them make wiser decisions.

Faithitup.com is also a great christian social network. I've been a member for a couple of months and they seem more member friendly and from what I gather the people in charge are very active in ministry.
