Game Background
Though you have work to do, you realize that there is a great need to rid yourself of distractions, namely various social networking sites. Get rid of them with the help of your trusty stapler so you can get back to work.
Gameplay
Social Networking Wars is a first-person shooter, but, unlike what the title of the game may suggest, this is not a war between social networking but rather between you and social networking sites, which take the form of their mascots and/or logos. Such social networking sites include Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace.
Social networking mascots/logos will come at you from the front. Fire at them before they reach your desk.
At the top-left of the screen, you can see the number of enemies you have shot down. Below that is a bar that, when filled, will automatically put you into rapid-fire mode. To fill this bar, simply shoot down the enemies.
At the top-right of the screen is the indicates the amount of ammo, or staples, you have left. Reloading is done automatically.
At the bottom-left of the screen, you can see your "health" bar. This bar decreases when social networking site mascots/logos come too close to your desk. Also, when you fire at your co-workers, you will also lose health. As you play through the game, social networking mascots/logos may also fire things back that can further hurt your "health" bar.
When your "health" bar is depleted completely, you will lose the game.
Game Controls
Click with your mouse to fire staples at the enemy.
Game Review
Social Networking Wars is a fun little first-person shooter that is perfect for relieving stress or as a short break activity. Besides the basic gameplay, which is not too complicated and actually could do with a little more difficulty, Social Networking Wars is entertaining because of its depiction of social networking sites. The whole idea of distracting oneself with shooting down distractions further adds to the game's humor level.
Social Networking Wars scores a 7/10 for providing a good level of entertainment and high replay value. Including a few more game options, like upgrade-ables, would help the game greatly.
