This is exactly what our social security system is doing to American citizens every day, and they are getting away with it! They lie, change your work history, whatever they must do in order to keep from paying you when you need it, and it is getting worse all the time.
If you are disabled, and hoping to claim your disability through social security, then I suggest you put on your boxing gloves, and prepare for the battle of your life! This time next year, it wouldn't surprise me if retirees are having to fight for their retirement funds! Let's face it, the social security system has no money, they do not care about those of us that are disabled, and they will do what they have to keep people from claiming what rightfully belongs to them!
My husband and I are both disabled, and between us we have paid into social security close to a 1/4 of a million dollars. This is not including federal taxes, state taxes, and all the other taxes that we all pay. When my husband became disabled, he could not get any medical help, and social security changed his work history in order to not pay! His most recent denial came 7 days after missing an appointment that he was not notified of until the day before, and could not make because we have no car, cannot afford a car, and have no family or friends who can transport him to the appointment!
This is how social security treats the people who has kept it alive all these years, like trash! We have a friend who is quadriplegic, even he was denied until his mom wheeled him into the social security office and told them to give him a job since they think he can work!
So if you have become disabled, and think social security is going to help you, I suggest you don't hold your breath. As time goes by, I think fewer and fewer will be able to get the help they need from social security. I wonder if anyone will be able to get help a year from now? It's truly become a sad world!

Griffen - I so wish I had an answer, but I guess SS feels they must lie and badger us all so that they can hold onto what belongs to US!!! I was told all you can do after the administrative law judge is sue the federal gov, but I had my hearing yesterday, and my attorney said if we loose we appeal. So I am not sure. I had a hard butt judge yesterday, and thatnks to him I spent my day at the ER in a severe panic attack that I thought was a stroke because I could not talk, and all my limbs went totally numb! You'll be in my prayers Griffen, I know the hell you are going through all too well. Try to hang in there though.
I have been fighting for almost 2 years. Social Security sent me to their doctors, who spent 10 minutes asking questions and not writing down the answers, then claimed that their docs say I am fine to work, despite overwhelming medical evidence of multiple herniated discs, migraines, HIV and periperal neuropathy. Can I sue their doctors for fraud? I have been declared disabled and given a pension from the health care company for which i used to work, yet SS is using lying doctors to deny me still. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who can tell me about suing fraudulent docs for doing this to me.
I know exactly what you mean! It took my husband 3 and a half years to get his and I am still fighting for mine. I have been fighting them for over 3 years myself. :)
Also, get all the documentation you can from your doctor, and rimind them of the laws. they may try to change things up on your end: but, if you have all of your documentation, and you know you fit the criteria, get a lawyer to fight for you. After all, they can't conveniently change the laws. Your case can hold them to it.
A pointer i should give you is if they decide to do you dirty and change your work history, go to your employer and ask them to give you some documentation. Take that documentation to them and let them know that you do know they are doing you dirty and that you are goiong to report them and get a lawyer pronto. I'm a fighter, and the last person they want to mess with is me. you can't let them win! they do not have the upper hand! They can change things, lie, and deceit, but there is a way around that.
The Social Security Administration is a joke. My friends and I had to fight to receive benefits, and we are blind. I do work and receive SSI, as the blind are allowed to make up to a certain amount before losing it. I was denied three times, and I threatened to get a lawyer to sue the mess out of them. I did get alot of back pay for the time they did waste. You are right. They are disgusting. They could care less if you die. It is a form of quiet genocide in my opinion. good work though, and I gave you five stars.
Very good read here, may help so many, nice job and super title!!
