Social Security - No Raise January 2010
Living on a fixed income is already hard, and then you throw in the cost of living going up. This does not go good together. The government is saying our economic status is getting better not worse. I want to know where it's getting better. All I see around me are higher food items; lately gas has stayed steady in my home town at about $2.49 a gallon. Electric bills are going up thanks to their need for more money. Read my article on AEP. There is a letter within my article that I received back from AEP when I asked why they needed more money. When we are young, we don't think about the future much. As we get older we start to think about ways to save and make our money grow. How can we in today's world continue to do this when as we grow older the government takes it away from us?
Millions on social security will have to find ways to cut corners just to keep up with their bills. Older Americans should not have to worry where their next house payment, meal, clothing or even their prescription money are coming from. The government is not looking out for them as they should. Instead the government is looking out for themselves. Americans should not continue to let the government run over them. We need to take a stand and let them know if it was not for us they would have no job.
Instead of bailing out the car companies, how about bailing out families that are not making enough money to get by. Given them the money to pay off their homes, cars, and to keep up with utilities. If the government wants to hand out money give to the needy not the companies getting bailout money and then taking trips, buying and driving fancy cars, private jet rides, etc.
The President we have now needs to stop spending so much money. He in my opinion has spent more in the last eight months of office than any President I Can think of. This needs to be stopped. If he continues to spend, spend, spend, where is that going to leave our country? So far in debt we can't get out that's where.

I live alone and pay my own bills.Is is very hard to pay all my bills without some help from family.I do not think it is fair at all not to give us a raise.Some of us do not have any employment to help us out.It stinks really bad,really bad.
this is the way I live here in Florida I can hardly survive I only get 674.00 monthly by the time I pay all my bills I have nothing left this is including household items,what I am saying is that it is hard out here I am a dibetic, I have a pacemaker, kidney problems,I stop breathing when I sleep, among other problems I can not afford some of the medicines that I need so the raise would be greatly appreaciated.
I only get 590.00 a month and trying to survive I can not afford to get insurance on the money I am trying to live on its hard for me I have had a stroke and I am also a dibetic these are some of my problems, but we need some one to care about people like me , I have worked most of my life and its not an easy road so not getting a raise will not help me keep up with the economy.

What No. raise My husband and i had to drop our supp%2C ins was taking all of his check every 2 mo to pay it%2C How do you buy food and pay electric bills with what was left. Yeah give it to the rich heck with the poor people thats worked all their lives and payed in to it.

a lot of us didn*t work where we could get a 401k plan we have to depend on social security to live. now what are we to do as prices raise higher and higher and our wage don*t . we the people worked for this, just for the government to take our lives away from us. they don*t care about us just there selves. they can get a raise but us poor people can*t one day it won*t help them either.
