It has been reported that a Chinese author is going to get plastic surgery to look like William Shakespeare. Many people adore Shakespeare, and even if they don't, they admit that Shakespeare contributed to the literary world.
People say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but it works best when the object of the flattery is still alive. The highly influential Chinese author, Zhang Yiyi did not seem to get this message. It has been reported that he is going to undergo ten plastic surgeries to make himself look like William Shakespeare.
It has been reported that he once compared himself to Confucius. Now, he says that the surgeries are worth the money. The surgeries are reported to cost $150,000 US.
Because of this, I asked people, "If money were no object, would you be willing to get plastic surgery to look like your favorite author, either dead or alive?"
Here are their answers, edited for grammatical reasons. However, it seems that they all had the same answer in mind.
Donald Pennington said, "Probably not." However, he did punctuate "probably" in an interesting way.
Samantha Scalisi said, "Nope."
Dee Collins Johnson said, "Nope!!!!!!"
Bridget Wilson Hall said, "No way! You couldn't pay me to have plastic surgery."
Christie Silvers said, "No way in hell."
As it can be seen, most people knew their answer immediately. A few had more to say than just one word or one sentence.
Lyn Lomasi said, "If I ever got plastic surgery, it would be due to a medical condition. I am who I am and would never want to look like anyone else but me. No matter how much I like someone, I don't want to be that person. I just want to be me."

Lady Samantha said, "In seriousness now--no I would not get plastic surgery to look like Poe, Whitman, Hawthorne, Melville , etc. Might get rid of my wrinkles though"
Julie Ann said, "Just because I love the written word does not mean I love the face and plastic surgery would not let me be me. I like me. In other words, I prefer the cover of my book to the cover of theirs."
The only question that remains is, "If money were no object, would you get plastic surgery to look like your favorite author, dead or alive?"
