SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation Joining Greatest Hits Club

One of the most popular games on the Playstation 3 is now a Greatest Hits title. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation will be joining the elite group of titles soon.

To become a Greatest Hits title on the Playstation 3, a video game must be on the market for lengthy period of time in addition to selling very well. Once those conditions are met, it is up to Sony and the publisher to give the thumbs up on the process of converting a particular game into a Greatest Hits title.

After numerous delays, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation finally came out for the Playstation 3 on October 13, 2008. It was a rather unusual release for your average video game. In addition to the retail version, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation was also available as a digital download on the Playstation Store at the same time. Furthermore, the retail version came bundled with the official headset for the Playstation 3.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation managed to become quite a big seller on the Playstation 3 due to the aforementioned reasons. It was able to do so despite some mediocre review scores and bad worth of mouth. To this day, it is one of the most popular games on the Playstation Network of the Playstation 3.

In the near future, new copies SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation will be repackaged to reflect its Greatest Hits status. The price will also officially drop to $29.99 at retail and presumably on the Playstation Store.
