Socrates Condemned

Robert O. Adair
This garrulous old man,
how dare he speak
so disrespectfully of his betters!
This failed stone mason
whose family is a disgrace,
how should he speak of high

giving reasons for things!
We'll fix him!
The hemlock

forever!

Ask Pelosi, she is on record as saying there is just too much free speech in our country. Socrates believed in life after death, I always liked his comment before drinking the Hemlock "In another world, they do not put a man to death for asking questions." If pelosi had been on the committee that tried him, they would have gone for the Hemlock twice as fast!

Why do the masses attempt to silence the very people that could bring ideas, change and solutions? God bless.

They may have silenced him physically, but it his words and philosophy lives on. It seems when someone is killed for their beliefs, this only increases the volumne of their message. Well done Mr. Adair. This is really good. :-)

I always read and reread your poems a number of times because you put much into few words. Again, my thanks.
