A little over a year ago was my oldest daughter's 4th birthday. She has an unmistakable love for animals and was trying to pet all animals that came within a close proximity to her. We decided to rescue a young kitten of her choice from the Humane Society. The kitten was the purr-fect gift and a delightful surprise for my daughter. He was content curling up with my daughter for the first few weeks.
Then the kitten became a free spirit to do as he pleased. He was literally climbing the walls and leaving claw marks everywhere! I knew this was typical kitten behavior and I accepted these occurrences. Problem arouse when he began batting at my infant's feet. He was playing instinctively, but hurting my infant in result. What was I going to do? My daughter loved her new kitty...
I began to research declawing much to my dismay. I searched it online and was finding that it was a painful recovery. The thought that he was going to have to still use the litter box under that condition had me worried about possible infections. There had to be another way to end his clawing.
Soft Paws was invented by a veterinarian doctor named Toby Wexter. This product has been on the market since 1990 and has made great results for cat owners all over the world. Further, it's very affordable at $18.95 a package. The supply estimated to last 4-6 months. We still have the very first kit we bought a year ago!
We graciously realized how uncomplicated this product was. It was fast and easy to accomplish the application. We cut down his nails, added the adhesive and then slipped the flexible plastic caps over his nail tips. The procedure was painless and without a further problem! Every once in awhile one would fall off and we would replace it and that only took about 2 minutes to reapply. They never seemed to bother him and he could carry on playing without damaging anything or hurting anyone.
After about 10 months we just let all the nail caps fall off and tested his behavior. He still doesn't claw much to this day. Our leather couches are unscathed! I believe having applied Soft Paws early in his life has prevented a long term habit of clawing.
I am so grateful to have been informed of Soft Paws and I had to pass this on to other cat lovers or those who may know of someone who would benefit from this product. Please consider Soft Paws for your pet, at $18.95 it's well worth the trial.
You will find that the plastic nail caps come in a variety of colors and many owners will have fun selected different colors of their choice. The family cat receives his or his own manicure, how's that for an alternative! Your cat will appreciate the pampering.
