Each winter flavor comes paired with a complimentary Softlips classic. Sugar Plum Berry comes with Cherry, while Sugar + Spice's paired with Vanilla.
I recently acquired and eagerly anticipated both flavors. And once again, Softlips outdid themselves (or was right on the money).
Sugar + Spice (this one reminded me of a ginger snap cookie) and Sugar Plum Berry are totally lipdelicious, properly preparing your pucker for the mistletoe! (Did you know that up until the 1500s, sugar was so expensive that it was used in small amounts as medicine and to sweeten wine, but not in food. Before refrigeration or cans, spices were used to make tainted food taste better).
Sugar Plum Berry may start a new Christmas tradition on its own (It's that good! Sugar plums are widely associated with the holiday. Remember "T'was The Night Before Christmas" and the line "while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads"? They were actually sugar-coated coriander. A sugar plum looks like a giant purple grape, with non-bitter skin.
There are sugar plum candies, shaped in a small round or oval shape, that are made of preserved fruit often coated in chocolate).
Both are perfect as a stocking stuffer or gift for yourself. And both offer the same great moisturizing protection as Softlips' regular flavors.
Two newbies have joined Softlips' regular line (available year-round): Mint with A Hint of Vanilla and Wildberry. I love these two (or should I say three) flavors!
The Mint with a Hint of Vanilla is exactly that; it's a nice equal blend. When applying, the mint flavor comes through first, but then you get that lovely undertone of vanilla, which actually "softens" or enhances the mint. WOW!
(Vanilla may have first been used by the Aztecs to flavor chocolate. They introduced the Spanish explorers to both. One of these explorers, Cortez, brought vanilla back to Spain; soon, its use spread throughout Europe.
Did you know that mint's used in medicine and in making perfume? There's about 3,200 varieties!).
Another WOW! Goes to Wildberry. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderfully intense fruity combination!
All Softlips lip balms and conditioners have SPF 20, which offers great coverage and protection from the environmental elements. And there's no heavy wax build-up or greasy feeling. EVER. They can be used as is or under/over lipstick (and when used "as is" , these lip balms are quite effective in providing lip protection against the elements, such as cold, wind or direct sunlight).
These "lipdelicious" products are also conveniently packaged in sleek, slim sticks to allow you to easily tuck them into pockets, purses, wallets or make-up cases.
Softlips is available in the lip care section of the cough/cold aisles of food, retail and drug stores nationwide, as well as in special displays or at the checkout of select retailers.
Starting in October and throughout the holiday/winter season, Sugar + Spice Sugar Plum Berry will be available in all Target stores. The dual-stick packs are $2.99 to $3.99
Softlips' regular line can also be found as dual-packs ($3.99) or single sticks ($2.79).
