The scent really is the premium feature of this body wash. The aroma is absolutely remarkable. It is the kind of scent that leaves your entire bathroom smelly, but in a good way, long after you are done with your shower. And while you are in the shower, the way the smell envelops you is just downright heavenly.
The body wash is enriched with natural extracts of pomegranate and mango, and it includes moisture beads, so of all of the body washes I have tried, it ranks among the top moisturizing washes. It lathers up really well and a little drop of it goes a long way, so it is fairly economical which is a plus for those of us that are cost conscious or just on a budget. I've even heard of people using it as a bubble bath. That proves how well it lathers.
At a price of $4.98 on amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Softsoap-Body-Wash-Pomegranate-Mango/dp/B000NT6ABG), Softsoap Pomegranate & Mango body wash is comparable to other low-end mass market body washes, but the smell and the moisture beads set it apart from the rest of the pack. You can get a price break by watching the sale ads and coupon inserts that are in the Sunday newspapers. It is on sale at one chain retail store or another almost every week.
The only downfall is that, while it probably has the power to adequately moisturize slightly dry skin, the moisture beads in this body wash are not moisturizing enough to treat severely dry skin. If you have a problem with exceptionally dry skin, it's not going to serve as a stand in for lotion, and if you put a lotion over the top of it, unfortunately it diminishes the terrific smell.
Still, a body wash can't be expected to work miracles, and if you have severely dry skin, you have probably stopped expecting them. For an inexpensive widely available product though, Softsoap Pomegranate & Mango body wash does work quite well. With less harsh, damaging chemicals than the majority of body washes, you can even try it as a face wash.
I would love to see a body butter or lotion with the same scent to compliment this product. Then, I would be able moisturize my skin after showering without losing the unique and great smelling scent of the Softsoap Pomegranate & Mango body wash.
