Sojourn Through Night

She stepped into an unknown sphere one night,
He said, "now come with me, just take my hand."
A misty path where all was calm and still,
outside the universe - no sun, no stars.
So dark and cold, the mist a solemn storm,
yet fear was naught, it seemed a blessed realm.

For they could see the brink of Heaven's realm.
Perchance another time, from out this night,
the universe might stay the ebon storm,
rrelease the living light into her hand.
Then leading down a path of silver stars,
His gentle voice so calming, "peace, be still."

Sweet tones, an angel chorus broke the still,
in language only roses know - far realm.
Then joining in their song among the stars,
her face illumined there wwithin the night.
The stranger, guide, her mentor, hand-in-hand,
now stood and watched and listened, staid the storm.

Her life, before, now moved beyond the storm,
she saw the good times, felt the pain fall still.
She saw the acts of kindness, helping hand,
her loved ones who had passed from earth's vast realm.
And through the empty space of endless night,
the moon emerged among the spangled stars.

Her name appeared, there written in the stars.
"Go back to those who wait - walk through the storm,"
He said, as glow of dawning swallowed night.
On earth's great rim where sea and sky stand still,
the tones then echoed o'er each rampant realm.
They journeyed back to now, He took her hand.

Time soared so swiftly, tempered sleight-of-hand,
to those she loved, now signaled by the stars,
and He returned with angels to His realm.
The tears that fell in love, a somber storm,
her journey yet unspoken, lingered still,
between this life and space of time, as night

Now past the night, with love to hold her hand,
but grief of pain is still, she searches stars,
and wonders if a storm invades His realm.
