This method of heating water does exactly what it says on the box. It is basically a hot water system without a water heating tank.
Tankless water heaters use cutting edge technology to offer the consumer hot water on-demand, they are generally more pricey but have a much better energy efficiency and so save a lot more money in the long run. Plus they take up less room and are easier to regulate for heat.
In a time when energy prices are rocketing up, people are looking to the tankless water heater as a replacement to conventional. This is not to say that the conventional heater is redundant, far from it.
If a consumer is looking to make bigger cost savings from energy efficiency, then spending a little extra on a tankless water system is the way to go, hundreds of dollars can be saved every year.
Why not go the whole mile and save even more by hooking up to solar energy?
Benefits of using solar energy with a tankless water heater:
As well as the savings on water through having no water storage tank, you will save money via converting the sun's rays to electricity. You do this by having solar panels installed on your property; these should be facing south to get the maximum benefit from the sun's rays in the northern hemisphere.
Your solar panels will be attached to a solar battery store; these will recharge to store electric through the daylight hours. In turn this should be hooked up to your regular electric supply, to run your tankless water heater.
Your heating system will need to be the electric version of a tankless model, so that the benefits are effective.
You can save a heck of a lot of money every year if you apply the two together. Doing so will see the overall system to pay for itself over the next few years, then it is save save save!
Environment:
You will be doing your bit for the environment if you combine solar energy with your hot water system, by cutting down carbon emissions and not dragging as much power from the energy company you will reduce your own carbon footprint.
There are some great ways to approach solar energy, one of them is to have solar panels big enough to power your whole house but this can be a gradual process.
