Soldier, I Thank You
Medal of honor
for highest form of valor
veterans now gone.
A field of crosses
fruit of soldier's sacrifice
ripen in the sun.
We sleep undisturbed
through the long and peaceful nights
as they sleep in graves.
For every age
a warrior class arises
putting country first.
For precious freedom
bought with the blood of courage
I thank you, Soldier.
