Solitary 4.0 Shuts Down as First Female Wins the $50,000

Reality Rehash
Solitary 4.0 is now said and done and with Val's system possibly never rebooting again the show concluded with a milestone winner: a female. Before we get to the end, we must start at the beginning. With the final three still squatting away it was time to kick things up a notch. Val forced all to perform penalty squats until one quit, that person was no other then Pod #6. Yes, the one who won the last four tests and was safe from going home. The one who returned to Solitary after getting second place in season two. Yes, Pod #6, the one person I did NOT want to win, was sent home. He didn't seem sad to go and really was only there to "close a chapter of his life". I guess that's good for him but for me, I was just happy to see both Pod 2 and Pod 3 finally claim some victory and get the chance to win the whole thing.

Both Pod 2 and Pod 3 were excited about going to the end. After so many round of quitting the treatments second, Pod 3 finally beat out someone and she was more then happy. Switching from tears to joy, Pod 3 was the first female in the final two and had as good of shot at winning as anyone. Pod 2 was happy as well and looked to his family for inspiration. He said that he was there for them and didn't want to let them down. Before going into the final treatment, Val gave the two some time to relish in their past. They were faced with snippets of each of the last treatments, eating a banana, drinking wasabi shooters, doing laps in the gorilla costume and sitting in the bed/hat of nails.

After their rehash of past treatments the two were faced with their last test. It was a toughie as they had to defuse a bomb. As slides of colors were flashed and spoken, they would have to answer a question to decide which color wire to cut. The one who made it to the end without screwing up would get an advantage in the final treatment. Both were doing well in the crazy challenge but Pod 2 screwed one up after thinking blue and yellow made purple. That left Pod 3 to simply finish the challenge and after doing so she was pumped to win as both were ready to take on the Wheel of Death.

In their final treatment the two were surprised to see a giant hamster wheel in their pod. After doing three cycles on the wheel, they could guess a letter to a word, hang-man style. The first to guess the word would force the other to do a penalty round. These rounds consisted of sprints on the wheel within a time limit and for each penalty they would increase by five spins. The first person to quit would be the first loser, the other would be the winner. Pod 3 got the first word, forcing Pod 2 to do ten spins. He did them without problem and took back the game by guessing the second word right away. This forced Pod 3 to do the spins this time, she did them but was obviously tired from doing so.

That would be the last penalty that Pod 3 would have to do as Pod 2 was given a fifteen cycle penalty followed by a twenty spin cycle. In his next penalty Pod 2 had to do twenty five spins, he could not complete these so it was increased to thirty. That he could not complete as well and with that he was forced to quit the game as Val upped his penalty yet again. It was hard for Pod 2 to do so as he had never hit the red button until this very time. After squatting for an hour and half in the last treatment, Pod 2's body was depleted and his mind was as well. He had a tearful goodbye but that left Pod 3 all alone in Solitary but she didn't care as she was the first female winner the show has ever seen. Pod 3 has been the one I've been rooting for since the start. She started off almost wanting to quit, she pushed the red button second several times but seemed to gain some drive towards the end. She pushed herself and won the $50,000 and was crowned the first female winner, a feat that several others could not complete.

With Solitary 4.0 ending that leaves the question of will there be a Solitary 5.0? There are now movements underway to try and get a different station to pick up the show, possibly G4 of even SyFy. Many have taken to Twitter, Facebook and the websitehttp://savesolitary.com to try and sway stations to pick it up but as of now nobody is exactly sure what is going on. If you want to help you can send messages to those stations and follow the website to see what goes down as we help push for Solitary to remain on air and for Val to hopefully reboot yet again.
