Reality Rehash:You seemed pumped to join the Solitary cast, how did you get involved with the show?
Rhonda/Pod #6: I saw it on Realitywanted.com and thought it looked fun. After watching the first 3 seasons on the internet I was excited to give it a try. When I realized I made the cut I got nervous and just wanted to get it over with. I moved to california to help my husband get on TV for his career as a Comedy stage hypnotist but thought why not give it a try myself.
RR:You did well in the first task of removing yourself from the chains, what were your thoughts on starting the game that way and what made you realize it was your Pod number?
Rhonda: After getting 2nd place in the first task I thought no problem I can totally do this. I figured it had to be something easy with 9 million different codes so when I saw the 6 on the wall I went for it. It didnt seem like 11 minutes had gone by tho, it felt like 3. After that task I was very excited for the next one until I heard I had to sweat.
RR:Going into Solitary what was your goal and ultimately what was your reason for doing the show?
Rhonda: My goal was to win the $50k and make Nebraska proud and to show my kids how strong I am....
RR:Did that goal/reason change at all during your stay?
Rhonda: I wasn't in long enough for anything to change.
RR:Val announced that you were the oldest player to ever enter Solitary and you were very proud of that. Do you feel the other contestants may have underestimated you because of this or were they not aware?
Rhonda: Being the oldest made me proud, I don't think that just 20 year old kids should be on reality shows. I don't feel 40 and I think that no matter how old someone is they should try something new. If I could've just sweat a little more I would've made it a lot further. My stomach is cast iron and I my nose can handle any smell. Im not a puker either. I've changed more diapers than anyone and have smelt some pretty bad stuff.
RR:The task that took you out of the challenge dealt with sweat. What were your thoughts on the task and do you feel it was unfair at all?
Rhonda: I'm not a sweater so I just knew I was out! I have never been able to sweat and my body just does not perspire. I do know now that if i would've taken my suit off and rang it out I wouldve stayed longer but it did'nt enter my mind because I wont get naked in front of anyone.
RR:After leaving Solitary your Pod was replaced by Tyler from Season 2. Do you feel he will hold up well compared to the other contestants and what are your thoughts about someone entering your Pod for the remainder of the season?
Rhonda: I want Tyler to go all the way for me so I can say Pod #6 did win.... It didn't really bother me that he took over my pod other than the fact that I never quit and the website says I did.
RR:When Val revealed that you had to leave Solitary you mentioned wanting to return home to your kids. What was their reaction to seeing you on the show and in the end did you feel a stronger connection to your family? Did Solitary change you in any way?
Rhonda: Everyone in my entire family was crying when they saw me hit the red button because I just told them I was moving back before they watched the premier. Everyone is very happy and Solitary did help me make that decision and when I watched the show it confirmed my decision to move back was the right choice. I have a much stronger connection to my children and My children are very happy and proud of me. At the end of my journey on Solitary 4.0 everyone cheered when Val said GO BIG RED!
We would like to thank Rhonda for such a great interview and we hope to bring you the rest of the Solitary 4.0 cast as they get sent out of their pods so stay tuned toRealityRehash.com.
